Being an Oilfield wife can be real hard. You have to be strong and independent right from the start. You will be a single parent most of the year. It is a life that should not be easily entered into. I have seen it eat up marriages and spit them out over and over again. There can be no doubt in the love the love that you share. It might not be for everyone, but I love my Oilfield life.

So very true! The oilfield life is not a life for everyone. We have been living it for nearly ten years now. It is still hard, but I find it easier than before but only because I have found more ways to cope with him being gone so much. What does your husband do? I’m married to a wireline engineer.

I have been doing it for 12 years now. The only reason we have made it this far is because I love him more than life itself. Nothing else matters… He is a drilling supervisor for a service company.
